Our Elite Programs are customized to advance and align skills necessary for effective execution of position specific demands in a game situation. Programming focuses on individualized techniques and needs in and out of players competitive seasons.

Elite - Skating & Skills

This program encompasses the best of what the RINK has to offer in a single program. Regardless of mastery level, Skating & Skills incorporates aspects of Power SkatingShooting & Scoring, and Puck Control programs, giving players a taste of everything we specialize in.

Each Skating & Skills Program also features an off-ice component with RINK Testify Performance. This component takes place in the gym or on the track prior to or following the on-ice session. Players will focus on developing functional movement patterns that correlates to on-ice development.

The Elite Skating and Skills Program is designed to challenge skaters to master proper technique with instructive and interactive coaching. Skaters will focus on balance and body position for a variety of techniques. These techniques include puck control along with giving and receiving passes stationary and in motion. This program tests the skater’s ability in a constructive and positive manner by our professional on-ice player development coaches.

Elite - Small Area Power Skating

The Small Area Power Skating Program is designed to challenge each skater capabilities. This program concentrates on both forward and backwards skating. This incorporates the precise skills involved with forward body position and stride. Skaters will increasingly work on their backward stride and crossovers to build and maintain speed. With constant feedback and continuous repetitions, this power skating program allows for skaters to be challenged every ice session.

Deception on recoveries and down low play with skating

Elite - Ringette League & Skills

5v5 allows players to improve their game skills and situational awareness. 3v3 style increases the game speed and focuses on increasing the athlete’s fitness level.  Skill development sessions will offer opportunity to practice skills and then apply them in a game setting that same day. Goalies will receive position specific training during these skill sessions. Off ice component will allow players to work on sport specific strength and power to help them improve on the ice. This program will be properly periodized around AA ringette tryouts incorporating Joga in off-ice workouts accordingly with the tryout schedule. If 5 or more athletes register from the same association, they will receive a free Rink Hoodie or 5 Skate Sharpening’s.  Hoodies will be based on availability.

May 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26

25 Players + 2 Goalies for U16 & U19 (2003-2006)
With addition of 2007’s at RINK Staff discretion. Program is only open to AA/ELITE Level players.

Sessions
Each Week Includes

  • 2 x 60 min gym session
    • Tuesdays @ 5:55-6:55pm / Thursdays @ 6:05-7:05pm
  • 1 x 50 min full ice session (skills session)
    • Tuesdays @7:10pm
  • 1 x 50 min full ice sessions (first half 3V3 / second half 5V5 game)
    • Thursdays @5:00pm

2 skates/week (12 skates total) + 2 gym sessions/week (12 sessions total)

Structure Breakdown
Tuesday

60 min gym session @5:55pm +  Skills session @7:10pm

  • Focusing on mastery keys for Elite level
    • Posterior Oblique Sling Level 1
    • One Leg Ringette Stance Rotation with Upper Body
    • Core Rotational Power

Thursday

3v3/5v5 Compete session @5:00pm + Gym/Joga session @6:05pm

  • 3 V 3 game for half (5-5:25pm)
    • 2-12 min running time periods
  • 5 V 5 game for second half (5:25-5:50pm)
    • 1- 22 min running time periods
  • Off ice @6:05pm
    • Gym/Joga session 
      • Mix in Joga sessions on a bi-weekly basis *Joga on April 21st & April 28th (day before tryouts)

Elite - Shooting & Scoring

The Elite Shooting Program is designed to challenge skaters with vital expertise in proper shooting mechanics. This program develops the fundamentals covering wrist and snapshot techniques. Focused on changing the angle as well as shooting from a crossover stride, these skills are excellent to bring to the next practice and game. Skaters take an outside approach using their shooting skills for tips and redirects. This Elite Shooting Program allows for skaters to grow their shooting skills to the next level.

Elite - Puck Control

The Elite Puck Control Program is designed to expand skaters’ abilities to control the puck in a variety of game-like circumstances. This program creates confidence in skaters’ abilities to control their stick etiquette: Full control of their top and bottom hands, puck control at top speed, and creativity with both their skating and stickhandling technique. The Puck Control program takes a focused approach on fundamental progressions and repetition to ensure players develop good habits.

Elite - Position Specific | Defense

The Position Specific Defense program combines a technical & tactical breakdown of the Defense position. With specialized skill development sessions in such topics as: defense shooting (different types & techniques), the offensive blue line, skating efficiency, defending the rush, 1 on 1's and many more.
