October 20th, 2023 marked a day to remember for young hockey enthusiasts and their families. The MTS PD Day 3 on 3 Tournament, hosted by the RINK Training Centre, was an invite-only event, and it exceeded all expectations and the excitement was palpable from the get-go.

This thrilling tournament was exclusively designed for athletes playing in the U11 A1-A/GOLD or U13 AA divisions during the 2023-24 season. It was a day packed with action, skill development, and camaraderie.

The daily schedule was jammed back, running from approximately 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Participants were treated to a dynamic program that included four 30-minute 3 on 3 games, a 60-minute skill session focused on skating and improving their hockey skills, a tour of the state-of-the-art Testify Performance facilities, and a hearty lunch.

The tournament catered to athletes born in 2012 and 2013, and it had a limited capacity of 40 spots, with 36 for players and 4 for goalies. The event's incredible popularity allowed RINK to adjust groupings based on age group demands. This adaptability made sure that each athlete had the opportunity to engage in competitive and development-focused gameplay.

The tournament was a massive success, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Jon Cara, Andy Zulyniak, and all the RINK support staff at RINK Training Centre. Jon and his team put together a fantastic event that brought together young hockey players, coaches, and families for a day of intense competition and skill building. This event was not just about games; it was about creating an environment where future hockey stars could shine and thrive.

As the MTS PD Day 3 on 3 Tournament came to a close, participants left with memories, new skills, and a renewed passion for the sport they love. The success of this tournament promises even more exciting opportunities and programs in the future, all designed to cater to elite skaters.

This day was undoubtedly a win for the world of youth hockey and a testament to the dedication of the RINK Training Centre in nurturing young talent. We can't wait to see what they have in store for the future!
