ON-ICE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PHASES

PHASE 1
CORE
SKILLS
Phase 1 will consist of Core Skates including a focus on Skating, Passing, Puck Control, and Shooting. The purpose of this phase is to get athletes back on the ice getting puck touches and their feel back. It is important for players to feel confident physically and mentally in preparation for the off season grind and dialing in their skills and game. This phase will ensure players are ready and feeling good for the R1 Off Season.

PHASE 2
POSITION-SPECIFIC
& GAME APPLICATION
Phase 2 consists of the bulk of our program and will focus on Position Specific skates, Shooting + Scoring, Small group sessions, and Compete/Scrimmages. The purpose of this phase is to break down the position specific skills through teaching and reps. Game concepts for Forwards, Defensemen, and Goalies as well, small area games and scrimmages will be a focal point to increase intensity and use these skills in game situations. Players will see a combination of 90 minute sessions broken into to 30 minutes of small group position specific or shooting & scoring work, 60 minutes of position specific + Game application and an additional 45 minute small group position specific session.

PHASE 3
HIGH TEMPO PREP
& GAME PLAY
Phase 3 will take place during the last two weeks of the off-season program for each group. Sessions will consist of a combination of High Tempo flow with limited board time, Training Camp style sessions, Compete and game play sessions, and high intensity skates in preparation for the upcoming seasons. Sessions will also leave time for individual work with our professionals on a daily basis for athletes post structured practice. These sessions are used as a confidence and conditioning boost making sure players are in the best possible form for training camp. This phase provides players a 60 minute position specific session, combined with 75 minute daily sessions leading up until their departure dates for training camp.
OFF-SEASON TRAINING DESIGNED AROUND YOU
OFF-ICE TRAINING PHASES
Testify Performance delivers training to athletes through different phases based on assessment findings, individual needs, training and injury history. All athletes receive constant monitioring and communication and adjustments are made accordingly to their program.

PHASE 1
POST-SEASON RECOVERY
& OFF-SEASON PREP
Athletes will rehabilitate/recondition all injuries/tweaks that compiled throughout competitive season while Performance Coaches will identify and improve any movement and/or mobility restrictions that may be leading to inefficiency or compensation in their on-ice & off-ice movement. Athletes will prepare tissues for future increased demands both in the gym and on the ice so players feel good, minimize risk of injury and improve their durability.

PHASE 2
BUILD STRENGTH
& ADDRESS WEAKNESSES
Performance Coaches will identify and improve physical capacities that will have the most positive impact on individual physical performance, on-ice play and long-term health & development. All hockey players build strength but how much of a focus it is and the specific "type" of strength depends on individual physical needs, stage of development & team/agent feedback. It is the foundation of all other training goals (speed, power, quickness) and lays a solid foundation of key movement skills & physical preparedness to maximize their ability to acquire new skills on the ice.

PHASE 3
SPORT-SPECIFIC
TRANSFER
Athletes training volume is adjusted for an increased on-ice workload and to maximize the player's capacity for tactical application. The priority in the gym shifts from addressing weaknesses to improving strengths so player's feel confident in their body and with their on-ice performance as we get closer to camps. Intensity will be high during this phase as athlete's start competing at higher tempo's and gameplay situations increase.
