About RINK
RINK started out as an idea to improve hockey development for kids and junior players in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The founders saw an opportunity to open a private training facility focusing solely on hockey players.
RINK opened its doors on Lowson Crescent in the summer of 2009. RINK’s philosophy was created with the small ice for focused skill development and a unique approach to training. RINK Training Centre’s relocation to its new facility at 57 South Landing Drive in April 2019, with state-of-the-art facilities, provides RINK the enhanced ability to continue to provide the most innovative and professionally run programs.
Since RINK’s inception, the company has grown to be the leaders in training in Manitoba. RINK Training Centre has continued to raise the bar for setting the standard of excellence in service offering for athletes of all ages. The acquisition of RHA Kelowna (formerly Pursuit of Excellence) will allow us to build upon a comprehensive, existing program to grow and deliver our world-class experience to athletes of Kelowna.

Our Story
RINK Training Centre is a Winnipeg, Manitoba based company founded by local investors and hockey enthusiasts. The company owns and operates RINK Training Centre, Testify Performance, and RINK Hockey Academy (CSSHL) with locations in Winnipeg, MB and Kelowna, BC. The RINK Training Centre has long stood for a comprehensive approach to player development with a strong emphasis on the technical, psychological, and physiological dimensions of the game. Our team of dedicated professionals at the RINK are committed to helping our athletes grow from the player they are, to the player they are meant to be. Since RINK’s inception, the company has grown to be the leaders in training and continues to raise the bar for the standard of excellence in service for athletes of all ages in an environment where exceptional performance has no limit.

Assistant Coach

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna is seeking a full-time Assistant Coaches for multiple teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing program that is committed to delivering a premier student‑athlete experience.

Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking an Assistant Coach who is passionate about hockey and committed to delivering excellence both on and off the ice. Our full‑time coaching staff works collaboratively to create a positive, supportive, and development‑focused environment that helps athletes reach their full potential in hockey, academics, and personal growth.
Key Attributes We’re Looking For:
- 3-5 years’ experience working in a professional coaching environment with youth in AAA, Junior, College etc.
- Extensive playing experience
- Successful completion HP1 or higher and Respect in Sport
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skillset with a proven ability to communicate effectively with both players and families
- A positive, professional and approachable character, fostering relationships with student athletes, families, co-workers, and post-secondary institutions.
- Working with Head Coach and lead recruiter, maintain awareness of prospects and build relationships to facilitate program enrolment
- Strong administrative and technical skills. Proficient use of MS365, video editing software and Hockey TV
- Strong organizational skills and experience with practice planning, practice plan adaptations, working closely with off-ice staff to promote an integrated, results driven training experience
- Clear police information and abuse registry searches
- Class 4 License
What You’ll Do:
- Assist all athletes in a clear and concise manner in understanding the expectations of being a student athlete inclusive of assisting in the overall progress, discipline and direction of each athlete
- Assist the Head Coach in developing a yearly team schedule with all other divisions of the RINK Development team
- Assist in the development a yearly training plan (YTP) for your team
- Assist in the development and implementation of Technical, Tactical and Systems plan for your team
- Assist with player evaluations of your team in a subjective, honest and fair manner
- Liaise with off-ice team to support training and rehabilitation efforts for student athletes
- Foster the growth of family relationships with constant communication
- Liaise with supporting programs and service providers such as school(s) and billet coordinator(s)
